Payment security
How we handle your money, and how to spot someone pretending to be us
Construction payment fraud is common and expensive. These are the rules we hold ourselves to, and the checks you should run on us every single time.
The one rule that matters
CONTAINAURA will never change its bank details by email, WhatsApp, SMS or phone call. Our banking details appear only on invoices issued from accounts@containaura.com. If you receive any message that appears to change them — however convincing, however urgent — stop, do not reply to it, and call us on +1 479-581-4872 using the number on this page, not a number given in the message.
How we take payment
- Bank transfer only for contract milestones. We do not take card payments for six-figure contracts and we will never ask for cryptocurrency, gift cards, money transfer services or payment to a personal account.
- Milestones 2 to 4 are held in escrow by an independent licensed escrow agent, named with their licence number in your contract before any milestone falls due, and released only against the evidence listed in your contract — permit copy, video walkthrough, independent inspection report.
- The final 8% stays with you until your home is set on your foundation and you have signed the site acceptance form.
- Every invoice comes from accounts@containaura.com, references your contract number, and states the same account details every time.
Checks to run before every transfer
- Check the sender domain character by character. Ours is
containaura.com. Fraudsters register lookalikes: containaura -homes.com, contain aura.co, containaüra.com. - Compare the account details to your previous invoice. They will always match.
- Call us to confirm on +1 479-581-4872 — before your first transfer and before any transfer where anything at all looks different.
- Send a small test transfer first if it makes you more comfortable. We will confirm receipt in writing before you send the rest. We have never objected to this and we never will.
- Be suspicious of urgency. Real deadlines in this business are weeks long. "Today only", "the slot is going", "the rate changes tonight" are pressure tactics, and they are not how we work.
Things we will never do
Ask for payment on WhatsApp
WhatsApp is for photos, scheduling and quick questions. Invoices and bank details are email only. A WhatsApp message may tell you an invoice has been sent — it will never contain an account number.
Ask you to pay an individual
Payments go to the company account named on the invoice. Never to a staff member, a "project manager", an agent, or a third-party account.
Rush you
Nobody at CONTAINAURA is authorised to pressure you into transferring funds the same day. If someone claiming to be us does, it is not us.
Ask for full payment upfront
Our schedule is 35 / 35 / 22 / 8, tied to milestones you can verify, with the last 8% held until your home is standing.
If you think something has gone wrong
- Contact your bank immediately and ask them to attempt a recall. Speed matters more than anything else — hours, not days.
- Call us on +1 479-581-4872 so we can confirm whether the request came from us and preserve our records.
- Report it. In the US, file with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center atic3.gov and with your local police.
- Forward us the message with full headers to contact@containaura.com so we can warn other customers and pursue the impersonating domain.
Our account details, and why they are not on this page
We deliberately do not publish our bank account number on the website. A public account number is the raw material for an invoice-redirection scam, and a page like this one can be copied onto a lookalike domain with the digits changed. So the account details live in two places only:
- On your invoice, sent from accounts@containaura.com.
- Confirmed by us on the telephone when you call +1 479-581-4872 and read them back to us. Do this before your first transfer. It takes two minutes and it is the single most effective check available to you.
Two things are constant, and you can hold us to both:
The account is in the company name, ContainAura LLC — never a personal name, never a third party, never a different company. And the details never change. Any message that appears to change them is fraudulent, whoever it appears to come from.
